Senior Adults



 

                            
Our Senior Adults are a very important group here at Bethel Baptist Church.    We encourage fellowship and growing together in some different activities. Check out the ones below and become involved!
 
 

Senior Adult Lunch is usually held the third Wednesday of every month here at Bethel at 12:00 noon. The next Senior Lunch is May 16th.  A $2.00 donation is requested to help cover the costs of the meal. We encourage you to come and bring a friend and enjoy a good home-cooked meal and great fellowship. Look for the sign-up sheet on the visitors table or call the church office at 507-345-4011. 

Men's Bible Study meets Mondays at 9:00 a.m. to study the Bible.

Women's Bible Study meets Mondays at 9:00 a.m. in the Ravine Room to study the Bible. 

 

2012 Quilting Retreats at Trout Lake Camps

There are 4 Quilting Retreats available at Trout Lake Camps this spring. These provide the opportunity to get away from it all and enjoy the peace and quiet of Minnesota’s northwoods while learning or continuing to indulge your interest in quilting. Dates are:  May 16-20. Costs range from $145-$195. For more information contact the church office for a brochure.

 

Senior Expo

The Verizon Wireless Center is proud to host the 8th annual Senior Expo! The Senior Expo aims to promote a healthier and safer lifestyle for those 55-plus. This year it will be held on Tuesday, May 15, 2012, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Verizon Wireless Civic Center. We are also proud to announce BUD GRANT as our keynote speaker from 2:30-3:30 p.m.

This is a FREE event! Highlights include: free parking, informational seminars on health topics, no-cost medical screenings, an exhibit hall featuring 100+ booths with services and products for active older adults/seniors, entertainment, prize drawings, refreshments and low-cost lunches.

Foster Grandparents

The Foster Grandparent Program is looking for individuals fifty-five years old or older, who enjoy children and have time to share in Mankato at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church Child Care Center.  By giving 15 hours a week of your time, you could help children succeed.   At the same time, you would supplement your retirement income with tax free financial reimbursement as well as travel costs, and insurance coverage.  Contact Gail Sumerfelt at 507-337-0382 or 507-530-2295.

(Definitions: “Prime Timers” are the people the MIBC has always planned events for. They are those retired adults who are active but have mild to more serious limitations. “Route 66” is a new program designed for the more active retiree. The planned events for this group center around service, education, and recreation.)
